About the role: eJewishPhilanthropy is looking for the next member of our team to assist with the production of our daily newsletter, Your Daily Phil. This will entail working Monday through Friday, primarily during 9-5 working hours, as well as a short team meeting with our American staff in the evenings on those days (generally 15-30 minutes). This involves tracking relevant developments in the Jewish philanthropic world, finding and writing about those developments in a concise and readable way and generally assisting the managing editor and other members of staff in the newsletter production process.

Requirements

  • An ability to write clearly, quickly and accurately in accordance with journalistic principles and style.
  • A firm understanding of the Jewish philanthropic landscape, knowledge of key figures, organizations and initiatives. Ideal candidates will also have a particular understanding of the Israeli philanthropic scene.
  • An ability to “separate the wheat from the chaff” and identify what is most relevant and interesting for our readers.
  • Fluency in both English and Hebrew.
  • An ability to work under pressure and on tight deadlines.
  • Solid communication skills and an ability to work with a team. Honesty and transparency are critical.
  • Knowledge of Associated Press style is a plus.
